X-tremely clever: ProMinent sets new standards
March 2015
ProMinent is setting new standards in accuracy and reliability with the new solenoid driven metering pump gamma/ X. It's robust, universally usable and easy to operate. Offering an impressive service life and featuring pioneering technologies, it's ideal for all kinds of complex metering tasks.
Heidelberg-based manufacturer ProMinent developed a new metering pump for metering between 2 l/h and 45 l/h at a back pressure of 25 bar to 2 bar. As the successor to the solenoid driven metering pump gamma/ L, it features a modern design with new electronics and many new functions. In particular it offers a precise, low-wear solenoid drive, predictive control technology and intuitive operation. Unlike conventional technologies, the gamma/ X does not need interference-resistant components to measure pressure or detect hydraulic faults. The gamma/ X independently ensures a smooth metering process at any time, massively improving the efficiency and accuracy of the capacity.
Pioneering control technology
There is much more to the unique new electronic concept than meets the eye. The gamma/ X is the first metering pump in its class to be driven by a cleverly controlled solenoid. Its innovative control technology gives the new pump an important advantage over conventional technologies. Its model-based solenoid control detects pressure variations and protects the system against overpressure without the use of additional sensors. Unlike other metering pumps, it eliminates avoidable sources of error by using anticipation.
The stroke length can be electronically set at between 0 and 100%. Continuous metering characteristics in the form of an elongated metering stroke are beneficial with volume-proportional metering of a chemical into a primary flow, as they ensure good mixing and there is no need for a static mixer in the primary flow. For the customer this means innovation in metering and production processes.
Increase effectiveness, reduce costs
The new solenoid driven metering pump gamma/ X detects varying pressure levels and automatically adjusts its metering behaviour to the prevailing conditions. Automatic bleeding optimises the metering result when metering is affected by gas bubbles produced by gaseous media. The intelligent control technology works fully automatically to ensure a fault-free metering process. This allows both productivity and product quality to be increased.
Easy operation
Parameters can be quickly adjusted using the newly developed Click Wheel. Four keys ensure fast access without the need for laborious scrolling through the various operating layers, ensuring intuitive operation and programming of the new gamma/ X. The three-level LED status display on the front of the device is easy to read from a distance and all angles and thereby clearly indicates the prevailing operating status.
