Cooling Tower Controller Aquatrac Multiflex: Reliable Prevention of Corrosion, Deposits, and Biofilms
Corrosion, deposits and biofilms in cooling circuits can significantly reduce the efficiency of heat exchangers. The consumption of cooling water and thus also the operating costs increase dramatically. ProMinent will demonstrate at the ACHEMA in Hall 8, Stand D2-E6, how this can be prevented.
With its cooling tower controller AQUATRAC® Multiflex M10 for up to four circuits or steam generators simultaneously, all required functions such as conductivity-dependent desalination control, metering of biocides and inhibitors as well as the monitoring of the entire process can be implemented.
To prevent corrosion and scaling in the cooling tower, an inhibitor and dispersant is being added to the cooling circuit in proportion to the fresh water supply. In addition, biocides are added controlled by time or dependent on measured values to prevent a contamination of the cooling water by germs and a formation of biofilms. The cooling tower controller AQUATRAC® Multiflex M10 executes these measures fully automatically. It can simultaneously control up to four cooling circuits or steam generators. All required functions such as conductivity-dependent desalination control, metering of two biocides and the inhibitor as well as the monitoring of the entire process are implemented. The controller can be easily operated using its 5 key universal keyboard.
No special software is required for the configuration. Only a standard Web browser, such as e.g. the Internet Explorer through which a standard integrated Web server is accessed, is required. The embedded Web server shows the controller values in real time.
Even more comfort is offered by the software Trackster with which the controller can be programmed, configured, remote-controlled and adapted to any process. Trackster permits a time- or event-controlled report generation, data import and export, manual data input as well as alarm logging. It also offers tools for controller networks. Simple to complex water treatment systems can be visualised clearly in real time.
The controller Multiflex M10 comes with a LAN/Ethernet interface,
14 analogue inputs for sensors or measuring units as well as 12 digital inputs. The controller’s modular design makes it easy to upgrade with I/O cartridges.
Summary
The cooling tower controller AQUATRAC® Multiflex M10 optimised for cooling circuits and boilers helps to reliably prevent legionella, scaling, formation of biofilms or corrosion of the piping.
In combination with ProMinent Dulcotest sensors and metering pumps, costs can be reduced by minimum fresh water and chemicals consumption and the efficiency of the heat exchanger can be consistently kept at a high level. The lower amounts of chemicals take a considerable burden from the environment.
