Inhibitor Dosing

Inhibitor Dosing

The dosing of inhibitors into the cooling water is usually effected in proportion to the cooling water inflow. The fresh water is quantitatively registered with a contact water meter and the inhibitors are added proportionally.

The concentrations used in the cooling water vary generally between 5 and 100 ppm. Used are corrosion inhibitors, dispergators and hardness stabilizators.

For dosingf the thixotropy is to be respected. As the inhibitors are also concentrated according to the thixotropy in the circuit water, this factor must be considered when dosing fresh water. Low inhibitor concentrations in the fresh water lead to higher concentrations in the circuit water (increased by the factor of thixotropy)

Inhibitors can be dosed accurately and easily using the ProMinent Cool Control unit. A contact water meter and inhibitor-metering pump are connected to the Cool Control. After entering the inhibitor concentration in ppm, the correct amount of inhibitor is automatically dosed into the fresh water.
